  • SOaRing to NEW HEIGHTS With READING

    Thank you so very much for you generosity and kindness. The resources you helped buy are used daily by my students especially the red and green crayons. We use the crayons to help us underline "red words" or words that cannot be sounded out in our reading passages The green crayons are used to underline known words or words that can be sounded out. Seeing so many green words underlined has given them such confidence in their abilities. They can't wait to underline and read their green words.

    My students love reading the BOB Books and other decodable readers. They love seeing so many books they can read. The students are constantly asking when they can read the next book.

    My students continue to build their reading and spelling skills daily while learning the rules of reading. We will continue to use the red crayons to practice our "red words" in our notebooks. We will also use the decodable readers to practice and reinforce our reading skills.”

    I want to take a moment to thank you for your generosity and kindness to myself and my students. I am truly overwhelmed. I am so excited to receive our new books and help my students begin to grow their mindsets and fill not only their own buckets but others' buckets with kindness.

    I hope we can quickly fill our new bubblegum machine with positive words and accomplishments! Thank you again for your support. We are off to a great year in our classroom!”

I want my students to understand that they control their emotions and impulses not the other way around! Using the How Full is Your Bucket series and the collection of social skills books by Julia Cook I will teach my students the social skills needed to make appropriate behavioral and social choices on a daily basis. The other books will be used to help change their attitudes from a fixed mindset to a growth mind set. The bulletin board materials will be a daily reminder of what they can achieve no matter their circumstances. I will use the bubble gum machine and gumballs as well as the bucket pocket chart to reward my students' good choices and growing mindset. Your donation to my project will help fill our buckets and grow our brains creating students in charge of their emotions that are ready to learn and grow!
