  • Making MATH more MAGICAL

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

It is difficult to put into words how the addition of an iPad and Pencil has positively impacted both my teaching and the learning of my students. The ipad has allowed me to present math lessons in real time, and model various ways to multiply and divide. I can use the ipad to write on and present all while my students can discuss their thinking and the process that needs to be followed when computing math equations. The ipad has helped bring the aspects of a chalk board into my home. Remote teaching and learning has its challenges but the addition of ipad has helped ease the process and makes demonstrating math concepts more "natural" for my students and I. Thank you for your generous donations and helping me improve my math instruction.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. V.

  • Making Math MEMORABLE!

    Funded Aug 19, 2018

Thank you so much for your support! You have made learning math fun! Students are able to understand new concepts by using concrete and hands on materials! These materials have helped make math memorable!

These fifth graders were so excited to have new- never used full sets of fraction bars and dry erase boards. We use them daily to show work and collaborate with classmates. Being able to differentiate the way we learn math has made a huge impact for all learners. Because of your support we were able to get away from using just notebooks and pencils and experience math in a fresh new way!

    You ROCK!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. V.

As a special education math teacher, I have found that my students with disabilities benefit when they are provided with manipulative during the lesson. Manipulatives allow students to construct their own cognitive models for abstract mathematical ideas and processes. They also allow my students to express their thinking through visual representations. The global economy requires students to have strong analytical skills to compete in college and beyond. Improving STEM skills and creating inventive thinkers will help my students get college and career ready. Please help me create these hands on and fun Math and STEM lessons for my students so that they may be able to practice and master skills while working collaboratively.
