  • Healthy Air for Healthy Brains

    Funded Sep 1, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity. It will make my students’ year that much healthier. Healthy air is a baseline for what we should be able to provide our students and now I feel great knowing that no matter what else is going on, this will be taken care of.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Blonder

  • Space to Learn Together

    Funded Jun 6, 2019

Thank you so much for funding my project! I am amazed by your generosity and willingness to support my future students. Because of you, my small guided learning groups will have a large, organized space to work. Being able to stay organized and focused during group work is invaluable to kids! My second graders will be very grateful.”

  • Book Baggies for Book Lovers!

    Funded Aug 14, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to our Book Baggies for Book Lovers project! Because of your generosity, every student in the class has a safe way to carry their books from school to home and back each day! Everyday before Reading Workshop, the students are all able to set up their reading area by taking their book baggies out. Once the workshop is over, they put their books back inside to make sure they are ready to go home at the end of the day.

When the students saw that they would have a strong, long-lasting way to keep their books instead of using large ziplock baggies (that are often too small), they were very happy! They knew their baggies wouldn't rip and break like the ziplock baggies inevitably do. Students were also excited that they were able to choose from the 4 bright color choices.

We have not had to replace any baggies and do not estimate needing to at all since they are made of strong sturdy materials. Students will be able to use these bags all year without feeling the wear and tear.”

  • Cozy Reading Seats

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you for your generosity! With your support, my students will have many comfortable places to choose to do their reading.

Because reading is such a big part of our day, these chairs will have a huge impact on learning in our classroom.

Once my students arrive and begin to use the chairs, I will post photos of them enjoying the seats.

I couldn’t have done it without your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Blonder

Second grade is a pivotal year for many students, especially in reading. It is a year that can determine a reader's trajectory for the years to come. To that end, I find that ensuring reading appropriately leveled books at home is incredibly important. In the past, I have used Ziplock bags for storage, but they often rip or get lost. Having a bright, sturdy bag for each student to use to transport books from school to home and back would help make sure they are each getting the reading practice they need every night. Thank you for your consideration in helping me with this project!
