My goal this year is to facilitate group work and learning play that helps my students learn teamwork, social skills, and that language is fun! Kagan strategy resources and mats will help students learn to communicate in learning settings by sharing the learning task. Timers will help groups or partners in ensure that they are staying on task and sharing the learning work. Individual white boards and markers give each student the chance to work on their own thinking in a flexible and easily assessed method.
Most of all I want my students to know that language is creative and learning how to use our language can be enjoyable. Students will practice teamwork, social skills, and language skills while working in groups to play Apples to Apples, Scrabble, Boggle, Bananagrams, and Madlibs. These games invite students to play with words and share their knowledge with their group mates.
