This is the second year for the theatre arts program at our school. After attending many different trainings over the summer, I discovered that there were several aspects which were lacking for the comfort of my students. Most importantly was a controlled seating arrangement and a much needed mindfulness area. I have moved to a different classroom this school year, one without carpeting, and would like to enhance the environment to make it more audience friendly. I would like to offer more comfortable seating for my students as they take turns being supportive audience members for their peers who are on stage. I am also creating a mindfulness area for students needing a break to relax or calm down.
