Scholars are often taught to keep a journal through writing; however, my scholars are too artistic for that normality. I've seen them draw out their feelings and sketch beautiful drawings and I want to capitalize on that skill. My students will keep an artistic journal of their 6th grade experience and then will use that data to create a final art piece at the end of the year. It will be showcased at our end of the year cultural recital and at a community event called "Pasifika First Fridays". This will be a fantastic project for themselves to put together and an awesome way to connect to the community. We also have a ton of projects that we still have to do; therefore, we need more paint and paintbrushes. We would appreciate all the donations we can get.
