My students attend a public K-5 elementary school. The students in grades one through five receive music instruction twice a week for 30 minutes. At our school, the average class size is 25 students. About 75% of them qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our school is considered a small neighborhood school. About half our students live nearby and walk or ride to school, while the other half are bussed from neighborhoods farther away. Most of our families would be considered poor or lower-middle-class.
