I remember sitting in a classroom straining to see what the teacher was modeling so that I would be able to do it just right when it was my turn. When sitting in the back row, i worried that I wouldn't be able to see everything. I don't want my students to have that anxiety. All students should be able to easily see instruction regardless of where their seat is in the classroom. A document camera takes the modeling a teacher is doing with math manipulatives, the illustrations in a picture book, a science demonstration, and broadcasts it on the big screen allowing all children easy access. This creates a more engaged classroom.
