  • Playing Around with Learning!

    Funded Feb 4, 2022

Thank you for the wonderful donation to my classroom. Several of our students come from a very poor background. It was a real treat having so many new games to interact with their classmates!!! Because of your gift we have been able to continue improving our math, reading, and language skills while having fun at the same time. These games not only allowed my students to have some interaction with their peers but also taught my students how to be a team player, share and follow game rules.

My students were so excited each time a new package arrived in our classroom. I am so appreciative of your support for our classroom! My students are excited to learn because of the kindness of people like YOU!

In this project, I received many different types of learning games and activities for my students. Each of my students learn differently and this is a great way to encourage and involve students who need hands-on activities to retain information learned.

Thank you again for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Turner

  • Teach with iPads, Part 3

    Funded Feb 2, 2019

My class and I are very excited to receive another little brown box delivered to our classroom that will hold our brand new iPad. We will put it to great use in our Reading classes, as well as, in other subjects being taught. We will use this iPad to practice our reading vocabulary words and weekly spelling words. We greatly appreciate everyone's generosity to fund this project. This iPad has gotten us one step closer to our goal of every student having an iPad of their own to utilize throughout the year.”

    With gratitude,

I teach two classes of reading every day using chapter books, as well as, basal readers to some awesome third graders. We currently have 10 iPads in our classroom which we utilize many times throughout our weekly learning. iPads are able to reach all types of learners; kinesthetic, audio, and visual. iPads will add to the experiences my students will encounter in my classroom. Using these iPads, we will be able to research the authors of the novels we are reading. Using the iPads, QR codes, and Reading Apps, my students will be able to move around our classroom and learn instead of sitting at their desk for 90 minutes of their day.
