As students grow up, they face new challenges every day. The purpose of these books is to help them respond effectively, and maturely, to the world around them. Many of the books will focus on social-emotional learning. I also made sure to include many books about growth mindset, to help our students in their academic journey, and to ensure they are utilizing their brain to its full capacity. Included also are some books from diverse perspectives to open students to different viewpoints. In my journey to the lower grades, I wanted to make sure that my library had age-appropriate reading, as well as providing the tools students need as they progress on their academic journey.
