Comfort Enhances Focus!
Funded Aug 14, 2024I am writing to thank you for donating to my project to provide a rug for my students to give them a comfortable sitting area for their learning. Seeing their excitement when they saw the rug for the first time during the second week of school highlighted the significance of community involvement to support the younger generation.
We have been using the "rainbow crayons" and making our creations more vivid. The erasers have made it easier for them to correct their work and be more willing to try new things.
Thank you donors. We appreciate your generosity!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Uwaifo
This classroom project was brought to life by The Gates Foundation and 7 other donors.Link, Listen, Learn
Funded Dec 31, 2018Thanks for your support in helping our class to be able to use our technology time more efficiently. With your help, we were able to acquire eleven headphones which means more students are assigned at the same time to complete their assignments, listen to books or be able to use the Internet without distractions.
The students were very excited to receive these gifts to our classroom and these headphones have helped to enhance the learning experience of all students no matter their learning style.
We are grateful and will continue to use the headphones to link, listen, and learn new things which will help bridge the gap and transform us into technology savvy students!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Uwaifo
STEM Initiative: Moving Objects With Machines
Funded Nov 17, 2018When we received our Stem Initiative materials, it was a complete surprise to the students in my classroom. I told them that they were receiving theses materials from people who care about their learning. When I brought out the LEGO WeDo boxes the students were screaming with excitement. One of them asked "Is this really for us? How did they know about us?"
The first time the students had to work on a project, I was a little skeptical about how much patience they will have since I could only have a small group work at a time. They were excited about their roles of "Director", "Programmer", and "Builder". They are taking turns and sticking to their assigned duties. I heard one of the students say to a partner while they were counting the number of bumps on a LEGO block, " We also get to do Math when we build our satellite"
My students are really happy to have these materials. It teaches them turn taking, how to follow directions, mathematical and engineering skills and above all, perseverance. It is a great fun learning experience for them. Once again thank you so much.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Uwaifo
