Flexible seating options allow my students to independently select an area in our classroom that enhances their learning style. During independent learning time, my students choose an area of the classroom that supports their learning. Currently, students choose from working at their desks, comfy upholstered chairs, floor rugs, or under their desks with a clipboard. I notice that my students are quickly engaged and stay on task when they are allowed to choose their work area and seating option. The products that I chose will expand my students choice of flexible seating options. Many of my students prefer to work on the floor, but struggle with writing neatly so others can read their work. The portable lap desks will allow my students to sit on the floor and have a flat surface to write! The stackable stools will provide a flexible group setting in any area throughout our room. It will provide a great area for group discussions. The active learning chairs can also be used in a variety of settings within our classroom. The chairs will work at the desks and provide movement while learning for my active learners. The chairs can also be moved to work with a partner or small group. The flexible seating will provide a variety of options for learning environments within our room! My students are motivated by variety and choice within their learning environment. This flexible seating project would positively affect my students social, emotional, and academic learning!
