I am always trying to find reaidng material for my students, that will captivate and keep them engaged. After reading "Refugee" over the summer, I realized what a powerful and inspirational book this will be for my 6th grade students. Not only does this book support the love for reading, it also supports cultural awareness and diversity in the classroom. By immersing students in an intriguing and beautifully written book, students will be captivated and engaged. With the ever changing climate in our society, this book will help students learn to empathize with individuals in their struggles to flee from oppression, violence and hunger.
