  • Building a Multi-Cultural Classroom Library

    Funded Sep 3, 2019

I would like to thank you all for sowing financial seeds into the lives of my students. Your donation will enable me to equip my classroom with a multi-cultural library. This will enable my students to read about people they can relate to as well as learn about math, science and social studies simultaneously. You all are truly angels, and I am so fortunate that you have chosen to bless me and my students with your philanthropic generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marbury Kilpatrick

  • Elmo Projector Provides Overview of Mathematical Situations for Young Mathematicians!

    Funded Aug 26, 2018

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to you all for investing in the future of my young mathematicians. I know the Elmo Projector you all fully funded through the Donor's Choose website will enable me to convey mathematical situations to my entire class all at once. Also, my students will be able to do the same. My goal as the math teacher is to help my fifth grade students learn how to think algebraically. When they are able to see me demonstrate mathematical situations as well as demonstrate their thinking using the Elmo, they will undoubtedly grow mathematically. Again, thanks for your generous donation and support. I look forward to using the Elmo projector to help my young mathematicians soar!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marbury Kilpatrick

My classroom is not equipped with a technological device that will consistently allow me to show or demonstrate math problems to my students all at once. Whenever I am teaching a new mathematical concept, I need to ensure I am teaching and reaching my entire student population, so they could adequately and effectively engage in learning and solving math problems altogether. Having an Elmo projector in my classroom will help me to accomplish this goal. The Elmo will enable my students to view math concepts and/or problems that I am teaching, and then work collectively and collaboratively to solve them algebraically. In addition, students will be able show their thinking or work on the Elmo, so they and their peers can learn from and grow together mathematically.
