Technology is the future. It is how we apply for jobs, bank, and even how we learn now. I want all of my students to be prepared for life. Using this iPad and stylus, I will be able to wirelessly project a mirror image of the iPad’s screen onto the classroom whiteboard. I could annotate on any document I give the students and untether myself from my desk and the whiteboard. I can freely move about the room, helping any students experiencing difficulties understanding while simultaneously contributing to the discussion at the whiteboard.
It is critical that technology is integrated into the classroom, but I want to specifically implement it usefully to created an added benefit for every student. Imagine a class taking turns working on problems in front of everyone else. Conceptualize how those with disabilities, anxiety, or shyness may feel when asked to participate. With this iPad, every student can contribute to classroom discussions, no matter their circumstances because I can sit right next to them and let them “write” on the whiteboard remotely using an iPad.
Moreover, I will be able to make class content videos. These videos will be crucial for reviews, students who are absent, for days I am out, and even in response to requests for help. The beauty is that students can review these videos anytime and anywhere. They can stop, pause, rewind, and even replay any video at their leisure. This will remove the fear associated with asking questions or feeling “left behind” because every student will be able to review at their own pace. I want to be able to use this technology to reach out to every student, ensuring that I am catering to each of my students.
