  • Bounce Back

    Funded Dec 10, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous contributions. The timing of this grant couldn't have been more perfect! We just threw away 5 basketballs that had holes in them. The students enjoyed playing with our new balls. We try our best to take care of our equipment, but sometimes we can't help it. It's normal wear and tear. We've used the new balls for our basketball unit and for Fun Day Fridays. Our students would pick basketball everyday if they had a choice. Each donation impacts getting the project funded, so thank you for supporting our school!”

  • Growing Our Glow Games

    Funded May 17, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous contributions that helped fund our project.

We have a great glow-in-the-dark P.E. and PBIS incentive program here at our school and wanted to add to it. We were in need of some more footballs and jerseys that glow. The white jerseys are visible with the black lights. We can still use the black jerseys for other team activities.

I thought I ordered glow-in-the-dark basketball nets, however these do not glow. We were still in need of new nets, so these worked out perfectly. Maintenance came out quickly and hung them for us.

Words will never truly express our gratitude. Thank you for supporting our school.”

  • Learning by Labeling

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you for helping us get organized by providing the label maker and labels. The fifth graders assisted in labeling our containers of equipment. Now it is easier for the students to help return the equipment to their proper place in our equipment room. Students learned to spell some new words when creating the labels for equipment. They messed up on a few labels with misspelled words, but were told that's part of the learning process. The fifth grade is proud of their work and happy our label making project was funded. Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Save the Substitutes!

    Funded Feb 28, 2024

It gets very loud in the gym during P.E. class therefor the use of a whistle is helpful. I use a whistle to gain student attention. I also use them to start and stop games or activities. P.E. substitutes are more successful subbing in my class when they have a whistle. Thank you for donating to this project, because you are essentially helping for when I have to be out. I have had a previous whistle project funded but ran out of whistles. The whistles from this project will help me with my substitutes next school year.”

  • Fun Flings for Field Day

    Funded Oct 26, 2023

Thank you so much for your contributions. The frisbees purchased are going to be used for our field day in May, but were also recently used for a frisbee lesson. Over the years, our frisbees get cracked or broken from repeated use. The students loved using the shiny new frisbees. The pizza flings requested in the project were unavailable, so I found replacement equipment that can be used during our P.E. lessons. We were able to get some foam tennis balls, cone covers, and giggle balls with the substitution funds.”

  • Bring Back the Balls

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

Thank you for each contribution to our Bring Back the Balls project. The balls purchased in this project have been the become the favorite balls of the older students. I make sure the students do take turns with the new balls though. We will be using the new basketballs during our Cha Cha Dribble lesson. It's a ball handling lesson where students perform specific ball handling tasks while moving to the Cha Cha Slide song. They also like free time with the balls. Thank you for supporting my students and our school.”

  • SOUND-Sational!

    Funded Dec 13, 2022

The contributions you made have helped us get this magnificent speaker. I am grateful for each donation. We had an older model portable speaker that wasn't Bluetooth compatible. The microphones had also stopped working on it. Now I can take our music outside when we have gym class there. The students are able to hear me when I need to play music and give instructions. We can use it during programs to play music. The microphones will be great for guest speakers. We can also use it for things such as calling students names during the car rider pick up.”

  • Substitute Supplies

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for each contribution to our project. Your generous donations have made it possible to give our substitutes the tools necessary to have a positive experience. Our school strives to be welcoming and prepared. We are aware that we must provide an inviting atmosphere to ensure substitutes will return. The substitute bag is perfect for leaving a whistle in whenever I am out. The substitute folder has made my instructions and schedule more organized. I've given out two whistles so far and those substitutes were grateful to have this tool specifically for my classes. They have shared that the whistles have also come in handy when calling students in from recess.”

  • Grow Our Glow

    Funded Dec 13, 2022

Thank you for each of your contributions. Our students love the new glow-in-the-dark equipment. They liked trying both volleyball and soccer in the dark. There is also enough basketballs now for each goal we have. We used to have only one ball. The new lights have helped illuminate the gym better. With each set of lights, there was a bonus roll of glow-in-the-dark tape. We will certainly make use of the additional tape. It can be used to establish boundaries in the darkened gym. We have already used the new equipment in P.E. class, but will also be using it for a literacy night this month.”

This project is very inclusive, engaging, and addresses many academic concepts. I like to facilitate other subjects by using cross curriculum with my physical education lessons. In doing this, the students feel like they are just doing a fun activity. They do not realize that they are actually learning as well. The students will be drumming on yoga balls while following a routine. This particular project will incorporate movement, fitness, increased heart rate, music, rhythm, patterns, sequencing, and memory recognition. It will support concepts being taught in their other classes. Students that pose behavioral challenges are often more receptive when interested in the activity. This project will give students who typically feel unsuccessful in the classroom, due to behavior, an opportunity to experience success. The project will particularly address ADHD, as the students will be constantly moving thus avoiding typical self control issues and allowing them success. It is also great for our special education population, because it can easily adapted to meet their specific needs.
