A bright and comfortable classroom makes a place where second graders are eager to come each day ready to learn. During our whole group time, my class is often gathered around me on our classroom rug, listening to a wonderful new book I am reading aloud or having a class meeting discussing our goals for the day. My students are noticeably more engaged when they are comfortable. A new rug would allow each student to have their own space and allow them to be good listeners without disturbing others. It would brighten up our room and be a place they enjoy gathering at each day.
