  • Make No Mistake, We Need A Pencil Case!

    Funded Jul 29, 2021

Thank you so much for your lovely donations! Students use the photo boxes to house their sight word list. Once they master the words in their box, then they move on to the next level which is more challenging. Sight words are words that appear frequently in text children read, but are difficult to sound out. Children are encouraged to learn these words "by sight" (memory).

Once a child learns to recognize and identify words on a sight word list, they will be able to read about 75 percent of the words in most children's literature and an even higher percentage in books designated for early readers.

My students are eager to learn and move on to the next level of sight words. The colorful boxes are just the right size for their little hands to manipulate. The more sight words they master the better reader they become. None of this learning, would be possible without your thoughtfulness. I so appreciate you for giving to these deserving children. May kindness be returned to you in the same way that it was given.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jones

  • We Choose News!

    Funded Jul 28, 2021

Thank you so much for your wonderful gift. A lot of these students grow up and are never exposed to anything outside of their urban neighborhood.

Time For Kids magazine, introduce students to a wide variety of relevant topics, in brilliant vivid colors and at a reading level that they are able to understand. Non-fiction text is so important! Students need to be exposed to material and vocabulary that is rich in meaning and context. Time For Kids magazine does that in a wonderful way.

My scholars are eager to receive a new copy of the magazine every month. We review our new vocabulary words and then discuss the topics in class. Each boy and girl get their own copy of the magazine, which is wonderful... because they get to take them home to enjoy with their families.

None of this would be possible without YOU! Your generosity has impacted so many and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jones

  • Let Me Get Write to the Point, We Need Pencils!

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity. This is the most used resource in my classroom! These pencils have made a world of difference for these youngsters. They can freely express themselves by writing without the worry of not having a pencil.

These pencils are so great! They do not break easily and they erase smoothly. My students are not constantly stopping to sharpen their pencil. This prevents interruptions to their thought process.

These pencils are also wonderful for Math. My students are able to erase and change their answers without smudging or ruining their papers.

I am so overjoyed for this most precious and basic of gifts and I want to thank you immensely for your kindness.”

  • Thirsty, Firsties!

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so much for these wonderful folders. My kids need help with organization, and these provide the perfect storage. The different colors, allow for them to find their Reading, Writing and Math work quickly & efficiently.

Thank you again. I could never afford to pay for these out my pocket and our school budget was eliminated this year due to the Corona Virus Pandemic.

You made the world a better place for my students. Please know that you have touched the souls, of (27) tiny humans! We need more kindness like yours. Thank you.”

  • Help Us Retain, What's In Our Brain!!

    Funded May 12, 2021

Thank you so much for these wonderful workbooks. My kids are struggling so much academically. Many of them are far behind due to school closings last year. As a result, they are very much behind, where they should be and are performing below grade level.

These workbooks will allow these deserving boys and girls a chance to catch up over the summer by having fun and engaging lessons right at their fingertips. The best part is that they get to take these books home and practice at their own pace. Parents and siblings can get involve and help the students at home. All of this would not be possible without YOU!

You made the world a better place for my students. Please know that you have touched the souls, of (27) tiny humans! We need more kindness like yours. Thank you.”

  • What's The Point? We Need Quality Pencils!

    Funded Mar 28, 2021

I am so in awe of your generous spirit. Please know that your donation will go to the most neediest of children! This epidemic has greatly impacted my students and their families, in a most devastating way. Even the simplest of items, cannot be afforded by these households. These supplies will help to keep these little ones learning, while also providing a peace of mind, to their loved ones.

These pencils and erasers are so appreciated and are used by my students daily.

Thank you so much! May kindness be returned to you in the same way that it was given. I am so delighted for your help. You made the world a better place for my students. Please know that you have touched the souls, of (27) tiny humans!”

  • What's the Word?

    Funded Apr 14, 2021

Thank you so much for these flashcards. Sight Words are a list of 220 words that are used so often in print that together they make up an estimated 75% of all words used in books. Some of the words cannot be decoded using conventional strategies so memorizing them until they are known by sight is beneficial.

My students now have a tool, that will help them be better readers, writers, spellers, and speakers. Your contribution will benefit these kids in so many ways. It also offers them a sense of independence as they can manipulate the cards and practice memorization on their own.

I so, appreciate your offer and kindness. You have touched the hearts of (27) five year olds.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jones

  • Let's Get It Write!!!

    Funded Apr 5, 2021

Thank you so much for your giving heart. May kindness be returned to you in the same way that it was given. Your donation will benefit these students in so many ways. They have survived the worst pandemic in history. All while trying to learn under extreme circumstances. These students have been learning in person in school every day since October.

Can you imagine the sacrifice that these parents are making? All in the hopes that their son or daughter will receive the education they deserve. Every single student in my class has been impacted by the devastating effects of the Corona Virus. We have students who lost family members, parents who lost jobs, students who lost home, and on and on. These journals offer then a place to tell their stories. It is important for them to be able to document what they are going thru. I teach them that everyone has a story worth telling and that they are authors. I am hoping that by writing down their thoughts and feelings, this will help with their emotional trauma. None of this would be possible without you. The joy you have created with your kind gift will have ripple effects in these children lives far down the line of their educational growth.”

  • We Need Books To Read!

    Funded Dec 20, 2020

Thank you so much for these delightful books. It is such a pleasure to present brand new books to these deserving children. I want to instill a love of reading into these youngsters. That is what having new books does for these boys and girls. It gets them excited about reading. You have done that for this class.

A book is the key to knowledge, and that's what you have done. You have opened a world of wonder and excitement to these young minds. Once a student learns to read independently, their smiles light up the room.

Your generosity will have a ripple effect on these students learning for years to come. Thank you for thinking about and taking care of these little humans. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.

Open a book, infuse a mind. You are the best kind of kind and I thank you!”

My students are caring, friendly, multicultural & eager to learn! They do not let their circumstances limit their expectations. These children are coming from homes where books are not a priority. Money for food and life's basic necessities are far more important for these families than books. This is especially disheartening because most of these children would thrive, given the right opportunity. Children in this area start school at a 2 1/2 year gap behind most children attending 1st Grade in the USA. If students had learning materials, books and supplies at home, this would help to close the gap. Please help me to provide hands on materials for students in this high poverty area. Your generosity will benefit these students for years to come. Research has shown that the primary grades are the most important in a child's academic life. Your donation will help to build a strong foundation for these young learners.
