  • Ukulele with Me! Providing Music Education

    Funded Sep 22, 2023

    with your gift of ukuleles, you have effectively provided music education to a group of hard working students. In three weeks of practice, students can play every note on the fret board along with the C chord and Am chord!! Our collective rhythm has never been better! Students can keep a beat for the entire length of a song!

    These kids have interest and talent in the musical arts! These scholars may never discovered their personal music gifts without your contribution. Donors have stoked a fire that will last a lifetime!

    Hoping to push uke practice into the new year. Goals in January are to play complete songs together (like twinkle twinkle). End of the year goal is to play a song with at least two arranged parts!”

  • A Lovely Little Library

    Thanks to you my students are increasing their interest in books! Many will choose the novels, graphic novels, and non-fiction over computers during free time. Its incredible to see them so absorbed by print media!

    Thanks to your support we were able to create a culture where literacy is an aspiration! The kids want to get better so they can read the awesome books on our bookshelf. Reading is valued and its importance has never been more clear! We read because books are fun!

    In addition to all this, you've given my more independent students high quality worlds to get lost in. My top students have already used many of the graphic novels as stepping stones to above grade level chapter books!”

  • A Love of Reading Starts with a Library

    These books have revolutionized reading in our classroom! Kids love the colorful graphic novels, the informative nonfiction, and the all the new option you so graciously provided!

    You've provided access to worlds outside of our classroom! I see these books being frequently passed around and discussed.

    As a class we have collectively read more than 200 books! Well on our way to 1000 by the end of the year. I have no doubt we will reach our goal! Thanks for making that possible!

I want to foster a love of reading in my class, but my library is severely lacking. I have very few books and the books I do have are largely not grade appropriate, beaten up, or simply uninteresting. I will use these books every day during an independent reading block. Our objective this year is that every student reads 40 books from a variety of genres. We are simply not equipped. A properly outfitted library would change the face of independent reading. The books from this project will go directly into my class library for kids to enjoy. I believe in the power of books and my students deserve powerful books! A quality library would revolutionize my classroom. Join me in my quest to put life changing literature into the hands of the next generation. Help me make some impact!
