My 5th and 6th graders are wonderful kids. It's only natural for them to want to learn, see and create. They are at a crucial age that they could either become even more passionate about learning and creating art or loose self confidence about their creations. I choose to install in each of them, to build not only their own self esteem, but to be builders of confidence in everyone. My students have a wonderful imagination and ahh about the world. They live in a small town, where many never move away as adults, yet they have a vivid understanding of what the world around them is like. Our school is made up of students from various backgrounds from lower to middle income families. We have students with severe disabilities, and some are coming to us with Spanish and Chinese as their primary language. Our students love and embrace their differences, and make everyone part of our family. I am proud of each and every one of the students.
