I am building a therapy space for my students to support them on their learning journeys. For my students with disabilities, the standard-issued, metal-frame classroom chairs can present significant difficulties due to their sensory, learning, and attention needs. The HeartWood Adjustable Wooden Chairs will address this issue by using ergonomic design to inspire engagement in learning tasks, help stabilize their core muscles during writing and literacy activities, and facilitate proper positioning for collaborative learning in small groups of up to 3 students around a table. This novel seating option will be part of a speech therapy environment designed to enable my students to acquire critical language, literacy, and social skills. The HeartWood Adjustable Wooden Chairs represent a lasting investment in the education of students with disabilities, and will serve hundreds of students for years to come.
