  • Let's Come Together

    Funded Jan 24, 2022

I am so happy to say our project has been fully funded! I cannot say thank you enough for donating to our classroom. We are facing many new challenges while navigating Covid, and we are surviving thanks to support from people like you! Thank you again for helping support my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hastings

  • Reading Takes You on an Adventure

    Funded Aug 5, 2020

Thank you so much for helping me to get books in the hands of my students! In a world surrounded by technology, a real book simply cannot be replaced.

When I found out about the mold in my classroom, my first thought was wondering how I would ever replace my hundreds of books I have spent the last 10 years accumulating. How can I foster the love of reading in my students without books? I had no idea how we would make it work, but you all stepped up in a huge way!

My students have loved getting lost in their books. I had many of the top Accelerated Readers in second grade in my classroom, and I owe a large part of that to your generous donation. Thank you for helping me provide a small piece of normal to my students in a world turned upside down by a global pandemic.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hastings

  • Let's Get Organized

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing to our project. The seat sacks have drastically cut back on transition time during our morning. Students' materials are safe and organized at all times. This allows us to maximize our instruction time. Every minute counts in our day!

Students were so excited to see the box delivered. They love having their materials easily accessible. Their faces lit up when they walked in and saw the seat sacks on their chairs the first morning.

My students are working hard to learn and grow everyday. I look forward to choosing my next project to find something to help students stay focused and allowing productive movement throughout the day.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hastings

  • 2nd Graders Need to Play

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you so much for helping us get these awesome indoor recess games. We've had several cold or rainy days, and they have made being inside much more enjoyable. The students are also working on problem solving skills as they learn new games and work together to solve problems with classmates.

Students were so excited when the materials first arrived. It was like Christmas showing them all of the new games and supplies. They couldn't wait to play them.

We will continue to add to this stash of supplies throughout the year to keep things new and fresh and allow more of a rotation. My next project will involve allowing more sensory movement throughout the day, so be on the lookout for that. Again, thank you so much for your donation that helped our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hastings

Our school is fortunate enough to participate in a pilot program this year that will allow for 60 minutes of recess each day. We go outside as often as we can and have a great outdoor playground. However, some days we cannot go outside due to weather. My students need engaging indoor recess activities and a way to store them. I chose games and activities that will be fun for students but also provide practice with fine motor skills. Students spend too much time on technology, so several of the games, like Jenga, tenzies, and Connect Four, must be played with other students. This provides a great opportunity for building relationships and social skills. I also chose LEGOs, play dough, and art paper to allow students to be creative and practice fine motor skills. Finally, I need storage containers to keep supplies together and organized. This pilot is designed to keep kids active, improve social skills, and reduce classroom behavior issues.
