As a young school with limited funding and big dreams, it can be challenging to teach everything we want the students to learn. Our high school students need high quality and deep texts such as Red Badge of Courage and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to develop their critical thinking skills and foster their ability to see from multiple perspectives. These skills are critical for their success in careers and future education. As their teacher, I want to sharpen their minds so that they can approach life with confidence and discernment. They deserve the chance to have every tool we can provide to help them be successful.
