  • Virtual Learning!

    Funded May 6, 2021

Using devices like a computer, tablet, or other type of technology in your classroom can help turn traditionally dull subjects into interactive and fun activities. The students who might want to draw during the entire class can now create an infographic to demonstrate their capabilities and understanding of the content by printing out their project using the color printer. Their instructional design degree has helped them elevate their approach in the classroom, giving students a more tailored experience that can benefit them in the future. Technology has helped me form a better relationship with my students. Integrating technology into my lesson plans as well as using it to expand my own knowledge of subject matter has made a significant difference in the classroom. Technology will undoubtedly continue to evolve, and it's important to adjust my classroom style to align with its advancements. You never really know how effective a tool or approach will be until you try it. Using technology in my classroom has also encouraged critical thinking skills.”

  • Build Math and Literacy Proficiency!

    Funded Oct 19, 2019

All students learn in different ways. Creating opportunities for hands-on learning in the classroom had provided my boys and girls another way for them to grasp difficult concepts. Using the VersaTiles helps my students build literacy proficiency in a challenging, rewarding way. I've used the tiles for independent practice and for use in small groups, and stations. It has helped my students by seamlessly integrating skills practice into my reading routine.

These hands-on activities let my students' minds grow and learn based on the experiences and the environment they are exposed to. As my students become familiar with the subject they are learning, they begin to make decisions, requiring less teacher support and allowing more interactive learning experiences to occur.

For a successful classroom experience to take place, students need to have access to many different tools. They need time to brainstorm, generate, and re-create their ideas. Furtheremore, they need to feel comfortable to make mistakes and to start all over again when necessary. These components are important parts of the learning process, as students become independent learners. Incorporating the VersaTiles is helping my students just do that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

  • Technology in Your Fingertips: The Modern Instructional Landscape!

    Funded Oct 9, 2019

Ever since I began to integrate technology into my lessons, my students have been more interested in the subjects they are studying. Technology and the use of these tablets have provided different opportunities to make learning more fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching same things in new ways. For instance, delivering teaching through gamification, taking students on virtual field trips and using other online learning resources. What is more, it has encouraged a more active participation in the learning process which can be hard to achieve through a traditional lecture environment.”

  • Solving Problems With Computers

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

Thank you for your thoughtful contribution of the Chromebook laptops. This donation has powerfully stimulated my first grade students grasp new skills and yet still be excited about learning.

Computers make the learning process a lot more simple and efficient, giving my students access to tools and methods of communication. Some of my students with special needs can use alternative input and output devices (assistive technologies) to interact with these laptops and do things that they normally could not accomplish independently. They benefit especially from having access to an on-demand, patient tutor that allows them to work at their own pace. These laptops have helped my students explore creativity and imagination.

Thank you for your kindness in recognizing that we have many students that need assistance and additional resources in the classroom. The children and their education are so very important to making our school and our community strong.

Thank you again for your generosity and giving to a great cause!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ramos

Combining new tech like VR (virtual reality) with traditional classroom instruction is one example of how the introduction of new technology can enhance the learning experience and create new opportunities. An appropriate classroom solution will support the shift in instruction in my classroom from whole class to personalized learning. Having tablets will deliver new and existing materials at the right pace and level for each child based on their specific needs. Research and data show that using tablets in the classroom demonstrate creative thinking, high IQ scores, and good problem solving skills. Many tablets come with built-in cameras and meaning QR codes that my students can use to structure the learning process. These tools offer a variety of educational opportunities and the traditional passive learning model can be broken. Technology transforms the learning experience and my students can use a universe of apps teaching creative thinking in an interactive manner. I can also use apps that can empower my students to collaborate with other students and make projects together. Students have access to an incredible amount of new opportunities. From learning how to code to learning how to better collaborate across teams and with their instructors-technology empowers students to be more creative and be more connected. New tech has super-charged how we learn today.
