The items in this project will help special education students have the ability to use sensory items to control their bodies and focus on the task at hand. These students need new sensory items at different times of the day and the school year. Having multiple items will help the students gain the skills needed to transition back to a general education classroom. Being able to get up and expel their energy makes learning more attainable for them. Having the ability to chose a sensory item will help with their social-emotional skills as well and making them feel like they have a voice and choice about how they use excess energy.
