With working in an urban area supplies for making the classroom fun and safe typically come out of pocket. Some supplies that are on the typical supply list are hard for my scholars to bring in and for this year I want my scholars to walk into a fully supplied room and not have to worry so much how they did or did not contribute. I want my parents to come in and see a classroom that is colorful and full of spirit! With the materials such as pens, pencils, permanent markers, bulletin boarder these items allow for this magic to happen in the classroom. With having a diverse class I want to provide the diverse options with differentiated seating with the bean bags and providing a library setting where my scholars can relax and read their books. Organization is a key element in providing structure for my scholars so having a few items to keep their work organized will be more than resourceful in my classroom. I call this project "I Am 5th Grade" because I want my kids to own 5th grade this year and dive deep into curriculum and fun to be better prepared for the next grade level.
