I have the gifted children in my class. I want to push all my children to be creative and do more during center time. I just don't have the materials. I have tons of ideas and projects but don't have the costly materials for the children to do these hands-on centers. I am asking for some materials that will allow me to have some fun active centers that will allow for writing and creating that will keep my room more on task more on task while others are in reading group and allow the children some hands on creative learning that these high learners crave. I want to use the magnetic letters so they can have some fun hands on spelling activities to work with. I also requested Play-Doh to spell out their words along side the magnetic and foam alphabet letters, this gives the children a real hands-on approach to spelling. I am also requesting paints, finger and regular paints. I want the children to paint out our phonics patterns and our spelling words for the week. I also want my gifted children to have the opportunity to illustrate a story after they have written one. Several times in centers they will write a story but not give me those rich details, I feel like if I had an incentive with a wonderful illustration center, I could make them work hard on their writing and put more effort in to their writing knowing they could create an amazing illustration when their writing is complete. Please allow for me to have these materials to enrich these centers to promote hands-on learning and enrich the writing of my gifted students.
