  • Urgent Need for Kindle Fires to Help Students Succeed!

    Funded Feb 28, 2020

My students were so excited when they opened the box containing the new kindle fires. They urged me that day to charge them and load all of our reading and math apps on them. That afternoon they immediately began using them by learning math facts on reflex math and reading books on epic.

Their favorite website is Flocabulary where music videos teach kids all academic subjects. They love singing along as they learn their multiplication facts or a new concept in science. None of this would have been possible without your donations.

Thank you so much for all of your help and support. I just recently posted a new project that features growth mindset books and books about social and emotional learning that will help my students during this difficult time. Tomorrow the Bill Gates foundation will be doubling donations. Any support will be greatly appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ryan

  • Students who Read Growth mindset Books Thrive!

    Funded Mar 5, 2020

My students were so excited when we opened the box containing our new books. We started reading them immediately. I first gave them a preview of each book, then we did a read in, this meant that I allowed them to explore all the new books reading with partners. Whenever we read I believe it is best to let the kids be comfortable so my room is filled with comfy chairs, blankets, pillows and stuffed animals (which are used as reading buddies). Students are encouraged to read with a partner or in groups.

I used the books to start our day off on a positive note. My kids loved the book Be Kind and The Word Collector. The graphic novels were also a huge hit. I believe in a well-stocked library. I have provided over a thousand books to stock my library. I now have a good collection of growth mindset books. My current goal is to add more books to my library that feature children that look like my students. If you are interested in helping us, please check out my latest project. Again thank you for your generous donation. I am extremely grateful for your generosity.”

  • Students Thrive Using Nikon Camera While Learning Photography and Academics!

    Funded Dec 30, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students were so excited when we opened the box and they saw the Nikon camera. I told them that we would be learning the art of photography. We used our indoor recess time to teach the basics of the camera. How to safely carry it, change the lenses, turn it on and off, and take basic photos.

They then worked in groups taking turns to document what they were learning in class. We had just started learning all these new skills when schools were closed due to the Virus. When we get back I plan on continuing these lessons and the eventual goal is to let the kids document their learning and put together a digital newsletter that would be sent out to all the parents.

I could never have given my students this opportunity without your help and support. I am so grateful. Thank you so much!”

  • Headphones Needed Please!

    Funded Jan 15, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Thanks to you I now have enough headphones for all my students. My students needed these headphones to be able to access the educational programs that we use every day such as I-Ready reading and math, reflex math and epic books.

My students were so grateful and happy when they opened this box. When I told them that these headphones had been given to them because there are people out there that care about their education they were surprised and then very happy. Just knowing that there are people out there that care about them makes the biggest difference. Thank you for your generous donations. I am so grateful for your help and support.”

  • Kindle Fires Help Students Close Education Gap in Math!

    Funded Jul 8, 2019

Thank you so much for your donations. Thanks to you we now have fire tablets that we use in both math and reading. My students are learning their multiplication facts through a website called reflex math. They are having so much fun they don't ever complain about practicing their facts. Most of my class is now 40% fluent in both their multiplication and division facts. By using this program they will be hopefully 100% fluent by the end of the year. We also use it for I Ready. This math program is differentiated so each student is given individual lessons based on what they need the most. Also they love going in flocabulary for all subjects. We also use Epic to read books on the tablets. They are such a hit that I am trying to get 5 more for the kids. Thank you so much!”

  • Combining Art and Academics Students Thrive Academically!

    Funded Sep 26, 2019

Thank you so much for the art supplies! The smiles on my students' faces were priceless. They love everything! We use the chalk everyday at recess. The sketchbooks and markers are used daily in language arts. The sharpies help me to make what we call anchor charts, basically learning posters for the kids. Combining art skills while teaching has helped my kids with learning the academic skills. School can be fun, thanks to your generous donations. I appreciate your help so much. My students are having a great year thanks to all of you. Thank you so much!”

  • Using Art Students have Made Amazing Growth!

    Funded May 20, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Art skills must be taught in conjunction in order for our students to succeed. Today's workplace needs people who are creative and can work in groups. This won't happen as long as we only focus on teaching to a standardized test. Students are so much more than a test score and a this kind of high stakes testing puts a damper on students creativity and ability to learn new concepts.

Thanks to you my classroom has the supplies it needs to teach math, science, social studies, reading through the arts. The students were so excited to see all the colored pencils, and sketchbooks. When I explained how we were going to use all these materials to help them succeed their faces lit up. Each box they opened was like Christmas morning.

Thank you so much, without your help, I would not be able to combine the arts and curriculum to help my students succeed. I am forever grateful for your generosity.”

  • Students Star in Their Learning Using This 4K Video Camera!

    Funded Jan 30, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to this project! My students are loving the video camera. At this point we have used it to film a reader's theater project and students have been given a chance to work with the camera. As we progress students will be taught to film each other teaching math lessons. We also plan on the students working on writing their own scripts for reader's theater and performing and filming their own films. Technology is so important. I can't thank you enough for your donation!!!”

  • Using Dice, Students Master Math and Have a Blast Learning!

    Funded Dec 19, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Using the dice to teach different math concepts has been fun and exciting! The look on their faces when we opened the boxes and they saw all the different kinds of dice. I explained how certain dice were fraction dice vs the money dice. Yesterday we used the fraction dice for drawing out fractions and comparing fractions. We have also used the telling time dice by rolling the dice and then showing that time on the clock. The kids love the 50 sided dice and these are used for addition and subtraction. Again thank you so much for your generous donation.”

  • Students are Academically Engaged When Using Expo Markers!

    Funded Oct 28, 2018

Thank you so much for helping fund this project! Having expo markers to use in math and reading has greatly increased the confidence of my students. They were overjoyed when I showed them the boxes of materials. They loved making the thank you cards to all of you.

As you can see by the pictures I posted we often use them in math, solving problems rights on our desks and then easily cleaning up at the end of the day. Using the expo markers means no broken pencils or worrying about erasers. It means children are more confident and understand they will make mistakes in order to learn.

As always thank you so much for your donation. Your support is why my students are having a fantastic year! Thank you.”
