I would like to incorporate a daily living hygiene component to the daily routine of every student. Through this program, my coworkers and I hope to meet student needs, improve hygiene knowledge and habits, provide a safe place for students to practice their skills, and increase their self-esteem. Each child will have a ‘self-care’ bag that they will use to make sure they are ready to give it their all each day. Each student will participate in scheduled daily hygiene opportunities, as well as learn how to advocate to take care of their needs. Through this daily activity, we hope to decrease embarrassment many of our students feel as well as to learn self-help/self-advocacy skills.
