Building Blocks for a Quality Kindergarten Classroom

Funded Sep 7, 2018

Our classroom is benefiting so much from your donations! We use the items everyday because they are essentials for any quality classroom. Having these resources made all the difference for our class this year, so we want to say thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity! Although my classroom level changed from a kindergarten to a preschool grade unexpectedly, our class still greatly utilizes the resources you donated.

For example students absolutely loves the beanbag we have in our library because they get to lay down and relax their bodies as they read their favorite books. Other favorite items include dry erase markers and lap boards that students use to practice their writing skills. Even at the preschool level, we encourage writing skills early on and dry erase markers and lap boards are the perfect tools for getting students started on the development of their fine motor skills. It really helps them to practice their gripping and control as they practice and get ready to write with smaller writing utensils like pencils. We use the foam counters in a multitude of ways--to practice our oral counting, to play recognition bingo games, in our ten frames, etc. We also use the plastic pocket charts almost every day in our classroom because by doing so we can decrease the number of laminating sheets we use. Other items like the laminating machine, label maker, and disinfecting wipes are all vital resources in our classroom that are used constantly to help create an organized and clean classroom space. Altogether, these items build a quality and effective preschool classroom for students and it simply would not have been possible without your support!

We will continue to use all the items that were donated to us on a daily basis in our preschool classroom! From art projects to writing skills, and from math problems to reading and beyond, your contributions help us do it all! We are excited for our next unit all about balls and we can't wait to find out how we will use our materials to support our learning. Thank you again for building up our classroom with us this year! Your donations are deeply appreciated!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Han
