My students are primarily English language learners, and even in their native languages, generally have little exposure to books in their homes.
I strive to pass along my love of literature and create a classroom environment that is welcoming, conducive to quiet reading and rich in a variety of books that reflect different student interests, and will help them become lifelong readers. The books that I have chosen go along with our first grade theme. With your donations, students will be able to select books from an extensive library of favorite authors and store them in their own book baggies. Book bins will help us organize our books and create a well-organized, appealing library that where students can kick back and enjoy reading independently or sharing favorite stories with friends.
