I am striving to create a diverse and interesting classroom library. My students do not identify themselves as readers, but I know that it is simply because they have not found the right book yet. I continue to add new titles to my classroom library, but I need more than what I can do alone. My students need to find themselves in worlds they both understand and connect with...and those they don't. This helps create true empathy and growth (both as a reader and as a person). I want my students to know they matter and that others matter too!
