Kids get very little time to play outside so the time that they have needs to be used wisely. The students need equipment! Outside time might be the time that students can show they care, by asking someone to play with them. Social skills are taught when kids get together and play games outside. Having playground balls, jump ropes, and chalk will help students all be included in different activities that fit them best. Many students no longer play outside at home because it isn't safe in their neighborhoods. We have to teach social skills like sharing and including others during outdoor recess time.
