I have been teaching for 10 years and have always had some type of flexible seating option in my classroom. As you can see, the student above mentioned yoga balls and folding chairs! More recently, I have been adding new choices into my room. My teaching philosophy has always been to create an engaging atmosphere where students have choice. I believe this makes them feel excited, welcomed, and comfortable and promotes a positive learning environment. By having different seating options and giving students a choice, all students have the ability to learn in a way that works best for them. These wobble stools would be such a GREAT addition to my learning environment! They look like a regular stool, but the bottom is not flat. So as you are sitting, you wobble from side to side. Not only will this help students concentrate, but it will also engage their core muscles and promote stability and strength! So, given the choice of a regular chair or a wobble chair… Which would you choose?
