I am so excited to welcome twelve little adventurers into my 4th-grade self-contained classroom come September. This will be my first year working in a high poverty school in the Bronx. Our school is a Title 1 school, with almost all students receiving free/reduced lunch. The community I work in is one that faces many challenges. Families in our community show tremonous levels of perseverance working through their struggles to provide loving home for their children. The students I serve come from various cultural backgrounds and educational needs. As their teacher I want to do everything possible to guide them and help each and everyone reach their social and academic goals.
