Hands on Math & Science!
Funded Mar 24, 2021My students and I are extremely grateful for your donations that helped purchase supplies for our classroom. The supplies we purchased helped us apply skills that we have learned in math and science.
In math, we have been using the "Battleship" games to work with coordinate pairs and practice graphing. Using this classic, fun game has made practicing this skill a lot more fun than repetitive worksheets. My kiddos really appreciate that!
In science, we've used "snap circuits" to build complete circuits and work with electricity. These kits have allowed u to identify the different parts, types, and have fun while doing this.
My kiddos have missed some instruction since school shut down in March 2020. These games have allowed them to have fun while learning and practicing new skills. For this, I thank you very much.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Jones
Can You Hear?
Funded Nov 19, 2019We are so grateful for your donations. Each student in both of my classes has access to headphones now! Not just any headphones, but good ones! Many of our science lessons are reviewed through simulations that are online. Because my students work at different paces, these need to be reviewed individually. Your donation is allowing this to happen regularly now! They can individually review and hear what they need to. We also have math lessons that are tailored to them. This allows them to hear ONLY their lesson and not their classmates.
Thank you so much.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Verizon and 4 other donors.Finish With Fun!
Funded May 8, 2019I can't describe the excitement that came across my students' faces as I opened our box labeled "Donors Choose". They were overjoyed! Rolling in the dry erase board was even more impactful!
I teach inclusion math and science- meaning some of my students have IEPs with certain learning accommodations. Not all students learn or perform in the same manner. These materials that were supplied for our classroom support their needs. As you can see in my photos, some students used graph paper to keep their decimal numbers in line; others stood to write on our mobile board; and still others wrote on the tables and cleaned up with our donated materials! Three ways to help them perform one problem!
In a few months, our class will move forward into graphing and locating by coordinates. Using the large graph paper pads that were supplied will really help with this concept. It'll help spark excitement and motivate them to "display" their work.
I cannot thank you enough for donating to our classroom. My fifth-graders are very thankful too.”

Mrs. Jones
