Creative Kids
Funded Apr 24, 2020To begin with, we had such high hopes of completing this project this Spring with my students, though given the circumstances surrounding the pandemic and school closures this project, along with others, will need to placed on a temporary "hold" until classes meet for the new school year.
Make no mistake, however, we will be ready to get creative and use this equipment and supplies! This is simply a delay and we will be ready to get started once everything is deemed safe. Creativity and expression through art can be done at any time and under any circumstance, that's the beauty of it.
As sad as it is that my students will have to wait for this experience, I know my kids and know that they'll be ready whenever the moment comes! To you, I thank you for everything you've given to help make this happen - the support, kindness and love you've showed to me, my students and for the arts!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Johnson

Funded Aug 5, 2019Thank you so much for providing these classroom essentials for our 6th grade classroom! My students use these supplies daily, so I know they will appreciate them ALL YEAR long! We complete an interactive notebook for Reading, Language Arts, Vocabulary, and Social Studies - students take notes, color notes, and then cut and glue them into the correct notebook. These notes can then be used throughout the school year as a reference and study resource. The glue sticks and colored pencils will be very beneficial for these continuous classroom activities. The colored pens are also very helpful for me to use as I'm modeling with the overhead projector- they write dark enough for my students to read and they don't bleed through my papers. Thanks to your donation, we're all set to get started with our Interactive Notebooks this school year!
When I showed my students our new supplies, they were very excited to get their brand new pencils and glue sticks. Each student has a pencil box that is stored under their desk. We keep a pen, colored pencils, glue stick, and scissors in there. That way students never have to worry about being unprepared for class (due to forgetfulness or lack of finances). Additionally, students do not have to get up and constantly be moving about the room - all of their supplies are conveniently located under their desk.
Just this week, we were able to complete our parts of speech notes. Research shows that coloring our notes can aid in the brains ability to remember and store information, so we colored each part of speech and definition a different color. We also viewed a fun rap video reviewing the parts of speech - students used the same color pencil to highlight the lyrics and glued that into their Language Arts notebook along with their other notes. Finally, students were given a review page in which they used their color pencils to color code the parts of speech they found on the page.
Thanks so much for your help!”

A Cart Is a Part...of What We Need
Funded Aug 10, 2018To begin with, thank you so much for funding my project and helping to meet our classroom need for a mobile organization cart! The new addition made it SO much easier to instruct from, as I was able to set my laptop on top and immediately link it with my interaction projection SMART Board screen - so much more user friendly each and every step of the way!
Thank you again, many times over, for helping to support my classroom and meeting student needs through this new instruction set-up. It has made everything so much easier and I thank you! It truly is because of people like you that our students can be given the best education.”
