For this Black History Month, my students are sharing the richness of black culture. They are delving past the stereotype that the history of black people is more than just slavery. They will be sharing different contributions, projects, speeches, dances and songs along with their teachers. This is a school-wide event that will promote unity, edify the students and enrich the community as a whole. Also, it is an excellent opportunity for the students to share the knowledge that they have gained with their peers and parents through a unique method of expression. All the materials requested bring to life the experience my students will need to be efficient and effective. The musical instruments are very important for the students to have because it will allow them to effectively show how music is also a means of communication. The leis and lion headbands are very important props that the students will need to use to be in full character for their presentations.
