For this proposal, I am requesting a Cricut machine and accessories which is an computerized, die-cut machine that cleanly cuts letters and shapes that then can be applied to t shirts, tote bags, mugs, and other products students can create for fundraising.
As I welcome back students into our classroom after being gone due to COVID, one of the things I want to focus on is school spirit and school pride. As one of the class of 2025 student council coadvisors, my main focus is to help our students use their student voice and choice to advocate for their high school experiences and ultimately memories.
The Cricut machine connects to a computer to cut out virtually any shape you can think of or create. Students will work together to design products, then use their school clubs and students government to sell inventory to raise funds for graduation, but also demonstrate school pride.
This project is important for the sense of pride and self-worth for my young students. When they learn about the generous donors that care about them and their art, they feel better about themselves and are more willing to put extra effort into their art. With professional quality markers, they will know immediately that their art potential is valuable. The supplies will inspire and make students feel more worthy.
