With this being my first year of teaching I thought that I was going to have a classroom of my own. The school that I am at is overcrowded so this year I will be moving from classroom to classroom when they are available. I will be serving students with emotional disabilities from grades 6-8 all throughout the day. I will be able to use the rolling cart as a space for my students can keep things organized when they come to me since we will not have a classroom of our own. On the cart my students will use the medium plastic drawers as a space to turn in assignments. My students will also be able to use the multiple drawer storage unit to find pencils, markers, and other school supplies that they may not have. The cart over all will be used as a little touch of me to give to my students since the classrooms that we will travel to won't be our own. I hope that my C.O.W. (classroom on wheels) will be a memory for all the students that get to use it. I hope that it will be a welcoming and home feel for my students. The last thing I choose for my project is fidget cubes. Hopefully, with more donors I will be able to have a wide range of fidget items for my students to use when they are with me and even throughout the building. Through my college experience, the students that I worked with that had emotional disabilities were sometimes able to self-regulate using fidget items to relieve some of their tension. Overall this project will be the start of creating a safe home for my students with emotional disabilities.
