Headphones with mics will enhance our technology use in the classroom. There are two ways that the students will mainly utilize these headphones with mics. First, in text to speech. Text to speech can help all children with their writing. It can level the playing field for in-class writing, whether it's typing a sentence, paragraph, or five-paragraph essay. Many students shut down or use easier words because typing or spelling is difficult for them. With the mics, students will be able to quickly and accurately write/speak what they want. The second way the students will utilize these headphones is when they showcase their work (reading fluently, comprehension, problem solving activities, presentations, etc.) on SeeSaw. Too often, it was hard for me to hear what my students were posting last year because of the background noise and they weren't speaking loudly enough. Again, the mics will help greatly with this problem and help me see and hear what students know, so I can better understand their progress and give them more differentiated instruction. Headphones with mics will improve my students writing, encourage student engagement, reflect on their learning, and help me assess and give more differentiated instruction.
