The educational games that I have selected will allow my students this year as well as in future years to engage in their learning as well as enrich their minds in new and fun ways! My students will be gaining valuable knowledge while playing fun, interactive games. Having these games would actively involve and encourage my students to be doing something in order to learn. The more actively engaged students are, the more they will learn or want to learn. The games I selected would be used daily by students in my classroom as well as students in our whole school. I would be able to use these games not only with my students this year, but for many years to come. The games would benefit my students during center time as well as small group time on a daily basis. The first basic skill that our students need to master is the 26 letters and sounds in our alphabet. Therefore, I have picked out several games that will give the children fun ways to learn their letters and sounds. I then picked out games that will help them use their letter and sound knowledge to begin understanding that letters and sounds go together to form words. Similarly, I picked out some games that will help my students begin to understand number sense. The math games I chose will help enhance some key concepts taught in kindergarten like counting objects, addition and subtraction, and they will give the students plenty of practice using these skills.
