Creating a Space for Scientific Thought

Funded Aug 13, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous support! This year, our new laminating machine and binding combs have given our science labs have an extra level of authenticity. Just like professional scientists, my students have been using their bound lab notebooks to hypothesize, record, and analyze data. They definitely take more ownership of their learning now that they have a lab book of their own! One example is the frog dissection we did in December. Using their lab books as as guide, students were able to identify organ systems in their specimens and analyze how these systems differ between frogs and humans.

Since many of our labs relate to each other, students often found it useful to flip back in their lab books to earlier units. Thanks to you, this can be done with ease! We appreciate your generous support. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our students!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Martin
