  • Save our Local Trees!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

I’m so excited to have these field guides to help students learn about our local ecosystem and the importance of native trees. Your contribution was very much appreciated! These guides help students use dichotomous keys and recognize specific features of different trees. My students love to hike through our local forests and identify the trees!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hearding

  • How Will We Use Electricity in the Future?

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Hi donors to my electricity learning project! I am so happy that you chose to help my students learn about their energy usage. This is so crucial to our energy future. Because of your sponsorship, they will be more informed citizens and can help get us on track with good energy decisions in the future!

    I appreciate you!”

  • Awesome Aquarium: What is in the Water?

    Funded Aug 12, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to our awesome aquarium! The students were so excited to take the steps to put the 20 gallon tank together and set up all of the equipment. Students observe the fish in our tank weekly and we even have an aquarium club where students test the water temperature, pH, and nutrient levels. They love taking care of the organisms and learning how to keep conditions healthy in a tank. One student even researched and shared about the nitrogen cycle with the whole group! Many of these students do not have pets at home so now they have an entire community of organism and friends to interact with. What a cool project! Thanks for being part of it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hearding

We are a high school Environmental Science class. (Some AP students and some on-level). We love to explore the woods and creek nearby to have hands on experiences with our environment. We also conduct experiments in the lab and learn through readings, notes, videos and discussions. We want to explore how our actions affect the environment and how we can work towards sustainability!
