Creating an environment that is conducive to students needs is very important, especially when working with students with disabilities. Studies have show increased learning in students who choose this seating, since they can get their fidgets out while still learning. If we truly want to get the best out of our students, we should offer them the best! The stability balls and balance disks would be extremely beneficial to the students who fidget often. The chair bands would also be amazing to put on the standard chairs in the classroom. These are designed to increase focus and attention while letting kids move while learning. Lastly, the wobble stool would be extremely beneficial because it provides continuous movement while sitting, which relaxes the right side of the brain, leading to better focus. All of these options will help my students are diagnosed with all forms of ADD, ADHD, and Autism as these provide them an outlet to move around without distracting others.
