My students will use these materials to excel on the court while feeling a sense of empowerment to do better off the court, for the simple fact that college isn’t an option in most my students minds and I want them to think that they’re more than an athlete by showing them that both I and others care deeply about them not only an athlete but as powerful academic minds. So by empowering them on the court and teaching them in the classroom and giving them equipment to excel athletically also helps in the classroom to give them something to aspire for academically!
