  • Flexible seating options for our autistic learners

    Funded Dec 2, 2024

This project has been helpful in our small group settings. We were able to switch out our regular classroom metal chairs, for these beanbag chairs for students to sit in. They were so excited for the change. It's amazing to see that now when they come to class, they are excited to learn. Sometimes they ask for a specific color, and we have to make a schedule to rotate them, but that always shows us how exciting it is.

We have seen a huge improvement in the way that students focus in our classroom. It has helped them to stay on task, and get their work done in a timely manner as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lindskog

  • Switch Activated Materials for Medically Fragile Students

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you for your help with this project. When the switches were delivered, we were able to set them up for our students with phrases and/or words they would be using during different parts of their day.

For example, we programed one switch to say "hello" and "goodbye", that students were able to use during circle time. This gave them the opportunity to participate and use "words" to connect with us and their classmates. This has been such a meaningful experience for them.

We will continue to utilize the switches for various parts of their day as the school year goes on.

Thank you again for all of your support.”

  • Laminating Sheets to Make Curriculum Supplies

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you so much for your help with this project. We have been able to laminate and create more materials for some of our most vulnerable students. Our students have been able to access stories on a daily basis.

Our goal is continue making these stories throughout the school year for our students to be able to access every book. We are focused on teaching all of our students to read. We will continue to work on decoding and comprehension skills throughout the school year.

Your help with these project has been crucial to help our students reach their goals.”

  • Snacks for Our Learners

    Funded Dec 14, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity for our students. They enjoy their snack time everyday. We have left them open to come up and enjoy their choice of snack each day. We've also realized that by giving them this snack break every morning, it has helped them to pay attention more and not be hungry throughout the day.

Our students are so excited to see what snacks are available and they love coming to pick one out. For them, it's like Christmas every morning.

Thank you again for helping our classroom.”

Thank you so much for the comfy seats for our students. They were so excited when we blew them all up. They love using them during circle time and whole group learning. They are able to sit and bounce, while we teach and learn together.

Being able to wiggle and move while learning has been life changing for these students. They love the flexibility of being able to use the en whenever they like. We keep them open for students to use anytime of the day.

  • Sensory Materials for Autistic Classrooms

    Funded Oct 29, 2024

Our students were so excited to play with the sensory materials. We opened the boxes and introduced them to our kiddos. At first, they were reluctant to try it because it's new. Then, they were thrilled when they tried them out and found out they love them.

These items are such an essential piece of our classroom. It helps our students to work on their sensory and coping skills. Something as simple as playing with kinetic sand and playdough is enough to help them self-regulate their bodies. Thank you again for making their learning time fun.”
