My students attend a Title I school. Over 96% of the school population is on free and reduced lunch. My goal is to provide a learning environment where they can feel safe. I want them to have a choice..a voice in a seat that optimizes their learning and the freedom to chose a new seat weekly. I want my scholars to know flexible seating is available to help build a community in the classroom as well as improving communication, comfort, sensory input, and physical benefits. Studies have shown that flexible seating has helped students raise their grades due to enhanced learning! My young and very wiggly students would benefit from the wobble chairs because they gently rock while the child is sitting. They also have heath benefits because they help improve their core at the same time. The floor chairs will provided back support and seat cushion while the students are sitting at a lowered table. The wobble cushion disks helps students move but also to concentrate on the task in front of them.
