I can't ever remember sitting and staying in one spot when I was a kid or even today as an adult. I know when I read the newspaper I like to be on the couch, possibly the floor. When making my grocery list I prefer standing. I am never at the same spot in my house doing the same things. I feel that kids are the same way. Some prefer to sit on the floor when reading or doing math, others prefer to sit at a table or desk. Some might even want to stand up and work. I have many kids who like to sit on their knees and complete activities. All the items I am hoping for will aid in the comfort of my students and their choices on the best learning position for them personally. If they want to sit on the floor they can do so with comfort. Each child learns in different ways so as a teacher I should have all different forms of flexible seating in the classroom.
