Color the World with Kindness
Funded Sep 6, 2022I initiated the first Random Acts of Kindness Club at our K-8 Center. The club is open to students in grades 3-8th. When we received the box of supplies at the beginning of the school year, the RAK Club members were very excited to start utilizing the materials to spread cheer and kindness. Our first big event this school year was collecting donations and writing motivational letters to Hurricane Ian victims. The children used the stock paper to make cards and decorated them with markers and accessories that were included in the art kit.
The poster board paper, markers, paint and glue were used to make Kindness Quotes posters, and these were posted throughout the school. The rocks were painted and the sharpies were used to write inspiring messages on them. The rocks were placed in the Kindness Rocks Garden. During Christmas time, the students created beautiful holiday cards that were sent to a children's center along with unwrapped toys.
The RAK Club members have many plans for the upcoming months: valentines using cardstock paper, friendship bracelets using beads from the kit, and surprise cards to teachers in the building. I am very grateful for all the donations because they have truly allowed the students to expand their creativity and create tangible acts of kindness.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Alvarez
This classroom project was brought to life by The Allstate Foundation and one other donor.
